Ingredients: 

  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil
  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 ounces cooked ham or bacon, chopped (optional)
  • 8 ounces cooked egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or 1 teaspoon dried parsley, for garnish (optional)

Method: 

  1. Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add cabbage, salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and lightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Stir in ham or bacon (if using), and cook until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and add noodles to skillet, gently tossing to combine.
  5. Garnish with parsley (if using) and serve warm.
