Ingredients: 

  • 1 pound turnips, peeled and cut into ½-inch sticks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley, optional, for garnish

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss turnip sticks with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Spread turnips in a single layer onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake, turning halfway through, until fries are golden-brown, tender and crispy, about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Tip:

Serve with ketchup or a mayonnaise or yogurt-based dipping sauce.
